GUESS WHO RETCH-INDUCINGLY OVERWORKED THEIR PICTURE
IT'S ME
I DID IT

This picture took aaaages actually, I did the lineart midway through last year, it was getting old by the time I got to colouring it ~__~ Luckily it was still alright enough to be usable, or rather, I haven't improved at all since I started. I can't paint any more these days help

BUT ONTO THE MAIN REASON I DREW THIS! These are some animal characters of mine :o My friends and/or longterm watchers will know Chituze, the rabbit. The one at the top is Tam, and she is a stoat.
Together they have adventures or something!

This doesn't make a good reference the more I look at it really, especially for Tam, a pose like that doesn't really tell you about her regular stature. I did my best though! The symbols in the background are the markings on their backs, see, clever composition elements. (Chitu's mark has changed, sorry - actually, I kept changing it because I thought this one was too difficult, but it's really the one I've had in mind this whole time. So it never changed at all and any previous references were a lie.)
Speaking of which, the particularly dedicated may notice I've removed a lot of preteen sparkle-animal traits from Chitu: some of it I will actually miss, but overall they were grossly extraneous and I kept forgetting to draw them anyway. Compare to Tam, who I designed on a whim at age 16-ish - she's a lot simpler, but I feel it's stronger, and I'm much happier now that both of them reflect my best design sensibilities.

Things that may not come across in the picture! Chitu's hair/ears/tail are slightly darker than her body. Tam's hair is a mohawk. Her ears always point back. That weird ball thing normally stays closed up and looks like a teardrop. I really need to rethink that last one, it's not really working for my narrative (which will never come to fruition).
ALSO, their personalities - Chitu is bratty, brash and snappy, but she's very sharp and highly independent. Tam is friendly and mature, but not as emotionally steady as she'd like to others to believe. There has to be a better way for me to communicate all of that; whoops, lol and oh well.

Regardless, this will hopefully get my gallery up to date, for anyone who is kind enough to require reference imagery. You may see more of them, especially so I can get a more orthodox shot of Tam drawn.

Deviantart's freaking animals category says it excludes "animals given specific human qualities", but I can't find any other category to include this, so whatever the hell. Ya'll realists can deal with my damn sparkledogs. It's possible they're only referring to physical humanisation anyway, i.e furries. Not that 'specific qualities' does a fine job of clarifying itself anyway.

I thought you were forever abandoning Chituze, this makes me so happy ;w; /shotshotshot

This Tam is new to me, well, you probably have drawn her before but you know... She's new to me =w= Totally digging the color scheme, yellow and purple can be awesome or corny, but here it is super cool! I love all the fluff on her body too it will be fun for me when I draw her! Also it's always good to see Chituze, especially because I feel it has been awhile since we've seen you draw her and your style has changed so much! Looks great though, you've always had a unique look to your art, but this is even more so C: And of course, the usual things, your shading is really fantastic and this drawing has an awesome composition and color scheme! So yes, yes, great work, lovin' this pic, and uh, I hope to catch up with commenting all the great things you've been doing someday
