I'm so sorry, I just submitted a journal like 2 days ago, and a bunch of scraps in the past month. It's like I'm in holiday mode already. x_x I really love this though, I can't resist uploading it now. And uhh I'm bored.

This is of course Homestar Runner from the website of the same name, and art of a oneshot I'm in the process of writing! Both were heavily influenced by Far Away, one of my favourite Vocaloid songs and definitely on top in terms of Miku's. When I first listened to it, I just, had this urge to write about sunsets, you know? This ain't quite a scene from the fic but it captures the feel really well.

The lineart here was done with bezier and then thickened manually; a retarded way of going about it, I know, but I wanted it to be neat and I thought this might be easier than cleaning up my freehand after. Wish the background wasn't quite so stringy but it's close enough to the effect I was looking for. Was thinking of shading Homestar after I was done but by then it was 2 hours so I was like "nah."
Homestar's propeller is so annoying, I tried lengthening it so many times and it's still too small.

There isn't quite anything that can be critted here, I know, but style tips for blending skies with solids would be cool. Or maybe teach me how to draw goggles. They are hard.
